Choice and Availability
To ensure fairness, rooms are released in phases rather than all at once. This allows all applicants, including those still considering their university options, an equal opportunity to access accommodation.
If your preferred option is not currently visible on the portal, it may be released in a later phase.
Room release dates are as follows:
-
Phase 1: 10am, 1 April (applications open)
-
Phase 2: 10am, 5 May 2026
-
Phase 3: 10am, 5 June 2026
Some residences and room types are more popular than others and may become unavailable quickly within each phase.
Applications remain open throughout the allocation period; however, availability may become more limited as rooms are selected.
Important: Not all room types will be available during the release phases. In some cases, rooms may have already been allocated to returning students, applicants who previously deferred their place, or reserved to meet the needs of students with specific medical or accessibility requirements.
How we allocate rooms
Accommodation is allocated based on your stated preferences and the availability of rooms at the point your application is processed. Our allocation system places students into the highest available preference at the time of allocation.
If we are unable to offer a room that matches any of your preferences, we will either:
If you are not happy with your allocated room
If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with the room you have been allocated, please contact us, and a member of the team will be able to advise on any alternative options that are available.
