Not attending?

There are many reasons why you may choose not to or be unable to attend a graduation ceremony.

If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony, you can either:

  • Graduate in absentia and receive your certificate by post or collect it in person following the summer ceremonies
  • Defer your graduation until our winter 2026 graduation ceremonies. Please note, you can only defer your graduation date twice and you will not receive your award or certificate until your chosen graduation date

Registration is open between 10am on Wednesday 22 April and 12 noon on Friday 12 June.

There is also an option for students in certain specific circumstances to graduate earlier. Visit our 'Can I get my documents early' webpage to find out more.

What to do if you've registered but can't make it?

If you have registered to attend your ceremony but can no longer attend, please contact the graduation team as soon as possible.
