The Tuition Fee Loan offered in 2026/27 will be £9,790.

Living Cost (Maintenance) Loan

The maximum maintenance loan you will be able to apply for in 2026/27 is £10,830. You can receive some of the loan without having a household income assessment carried out, but if your household income is around £62,000 or below you can receive a higher rate of loan

You may be able to access funding if you already hold a degree or higher level award - please refer to our ELQ factsheet PDF file icon

The amount you can borrow depends on the course intensity and your household income. In order to be eligible for the loans, you must be studying at least 25% of an equivalent full-time course in the relevant year. 

The tuition fee loan of up to £7,335 is not based on household income, but the maintenance loan is.

Students starting in September 2026 and continuing students who started their course before September 2026 can apply for the loans by applying online at the    -  information below about the course title to use when applying.

There is no age limit for applying for the fee loan but you will need to be under 60 on the first day of the academic quarter you commence the course in; eg 1 September for courses starting September to November, to qualify for a maintence loan.
