Why Nottingham?

Performance Women's Rugby Union

Why Nottingham?

Our Women's Rugby Union Club (UNRUC) enjoys a national reputation for rugby, attracting performance rugby players who want to balance their continued rugby development with studying at one of the UK's top Universities.

The University and Leicester Tigers have a strategic performance partnership, established in 2025, focusing on women’s rugby. This collaboration integrates UoN Women’s Rugby with the Tigers’ pathway, offering coaching, staff development, and training opportunities to build a pipeline for the Premiership Women's Rugby team.

The Women's Rugby Club at Nottingham continues to grow and develop, and has a clear and compelling vision to deliver the most successful student rugby experience in the UK.

The Club has 3 teams which compete in the BUCS leagues and is coached by Tim Westwood. The first team competes in BUCS Premier North (the highest tier outside of Women's BUCS Super Rugby) which Nottingham won in the 2025/26 season.
