The University is committed to maintaining a positive, inclusive and respectful working environment, in which all employees are supported to perform at their best.
The Managing Capability Procedure forms part of the University’s wider approach to managing performance and it provides clear guidance for managers on addressing capability issues constructively when an employee’s performance falls below the expected standards for their role.
Effective performance management should be an ongoing and integral part of everyday activities, ensuring that all employees have the opportunity to meet or exceed performance expectations.
The procedure outlines how capability issues can be addressed both informally and through formal action. Wherever possible, the University seeks to support improvement and promote early intervention.
