This module is for students who have completed the 10-week HSK Level 1- Part B course. It is also suitable for students with basic Chinese language skills. Good command of Pinyin, the phonetic system is a prerequisite to starting the course.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• describe Ongoing and Daily Activities;

• describe Weather and Health Conditions;

• express Needs and Requests;

• express Feelings, Abilities, and Willingness;

• talk About Plans and Travel;

• communicate daily conversations about daily activities, weather/health, personal need etc;

• develop a speaking and listening vocabulary of 113 words and frequently used phrases;

• recognize and read approximately 70 Chinese characters; 

• understand simple Chinese etiquette and customs related to the course content.
