Description

Welcome to Mandarin Corner: Celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival with Shadow Puppetry

This special edition of Mandarin Corner blends the rich traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival with the enchanting folk art of Chinese shadow puppetry.

✨ Together, we will explore the traditions and stories behind one of China’s most famous festivals, including the legend of Qu Yuan, dragon boat racing etc

Participants will also discover the art of Chinese shadow puppetry, a traditional form of folk performance with a long history in Chinese culture.

️ Working in groups, everyone will create short dialogues connected to the Dragon Boat Festival and bring them to life through shadow puppet performances.

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, we warmly welcome you to join us, make new friends, improve your Chinese, and experience traditional Chinese culture in a fun and interactive way.

Refreshments will be provided.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

This event is organised by NCI in partnership with CSSA.

We look forward to seeing you there!
