Employees can now purchase annual tram passes and benefit from 15% discount.
The University has teamed up with NET – the tram operator – to offer staff the opportunity to purchase annual season tickets through salary deductions. By signing up, a monthly payment will be taken directly from your net salary for twelve months, giving you unlimited travel on the entire tram network – including the new lines to Toton and Clifton when they open this summer. The pass also allows you to park at the seven park and ride sites situated along the tram routes.
Annual passes cost £400 for adults (a saving of £75 off the full price) and £225 for those staff eligible for student discount.
To take advantage of these prices, just complete the application form and return it to Pension & Benefits Services at King’s Meadow Campus. Sign up by 14th August in order to start your pass on 1st September! Thereafter, applications will be accepted on a monthly basis; forms must be received by the 14th of the month prior to the month you wish the travel pass to commence.
Is an annual tram pass suitable for my journeys?
- If you'd prefer to give the tram a try before you commit to the annual pass, then you may wish to use NET's voucher for a discounted one month trial over the summer.
- If you travel by tram less frequently, a MANGO card may be more suitable as credit is pre-loaded onto the card to be used on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. .
- If you travel by bus as well as by tram, then the Kangaroo pass may be more suitable. .
