Biography

Nora Wikoff 's research interests revolve around labour markets, crime, financial wellbeing, and inclusive asset-building policy, with a shared focus on how interventions can improve individuals' financial wellbeing and promote beneficial outcomes. As Research Associate with Washington University's Center for Social Development, Nora worked on SEED for Oklahoma Kids, an experimental test of Child Development Accounts. She has also been involved in evaluations of reentry programmes, most recently a transitional jobs and housing program for former prisoners at risk of chronic homelessness.

Nora's doctoral thesis examined the relationship between work and crime among serious and violent former prisoners. It looked at whether prison-based employment programmes improve men's post-release work and recidivism outcomes and whether sustained labour force attachment reduces men's risk of returning to prison.

Nora received her MSW and PhD from Washington University in Saint Louis, and she has a Master's of Science in Library Science from the University of North Carolina. Prior to entering doctoral study, Nora was a reference librarian. She teaches research methods, statistics, and programme evaluation.
