Cyber Security Awareness - Can it be fun?

Join us on Thursday 18 June for our Science Public Lecture, with Steven Furnell from the º£½ÇºÚÁÏ's Faculty of Science.

The ubiquity of digital technology, and our reliance upon it, has made cyber security an important consideration for all users of digital devices. However, getting the message across can be a challenge and cyber awareness is often handled in a tick-box manner.

This talk looks at how initial engagement can be made more … fun. We will consider some of the basic awareness users ought to have, highlighting the threats that exist and the safeguards against them.

We will then show how this has been incorporated into a series of gamified activities that can make players more receptive to the cyber security concepts they need to know about. There will also be a chance to play the games.

No registration is required for this event. This lecture is part of our monthly Science Public Lecture series, and everyone is welcome to join.
