Our postgraduate placements are designed to help you recognise the breadth of your potential and highlight future opportunities.

About our placements

Each placement involves a discrete project at an external organisation for which the postgraduate researcher acts as a specialist consultant. The placements are delivered in partnership with a wide range of employers from small local businesses to multinational organisations. 

We generally offer two types of placement:

  • part-time projects, up to 200 hours, for a period of 3-6 months.

  • full-time 3 month internships.

    Join HiveMind, an EdTech start-up tackling the data skills gap. As a Full鈥慡tack Development PG Placement Participant, you鈥檒l work in a TypeScript/React/Next.js codebase, building real features across frontend, backend and database layers. With close mentorship, scoped tasks and regular code reviews, you鈥檒l deliver production鈥慻rade work, develop debugging skills and contribute to AI鈥慸riven learning products.

    Research Consulting is a mission鈥慸riven consultancy working across the research lifecycle, supporting national and international clients. This short鈥憈erm role (June鈥揓uly 2026) involves mixed鈥憁ethods research, analysis, survey and interview work, and project support using tools like Excel, PowerBI and AI. Ideal for flexible, motivated candidates with research experience and strong willingness to learn.

    Join Foxwood Furniture Co to enhance our in鈥慼ouse ERP system built on PowerApps, PowerAutomate and Dataverse. You鈥檒l develop digital purchasing workflows that analyse BOMs, stock and orders to generate automated purchase orders and manage goods receipt. Work directly with the MD, research Microsoft tools, explore AI solutions, and document your build for future development. Ideal for tech鈥慸riven PG students.
