Current Research

My research is focused on applied cognitive psychology, mainly the psychology of driving and cross-cultural differences in cognition. I am interested in understanding the cognitive processes involved in driving, particularly those which can lead to accidents on the road. This has included research into drivers visual attention, emotional responses to autonomous vehicles, and the effects of driver sleepiness.

My current research is focused on understanding how we use different cues on the road to communicate with other road users, and how these might differ between drivers from different countries.
