Wenn China angreift Sparks Public and Media Interest

Book cover for 'wenn-china-angreift'

Congratulations to Dr Andreas Fulda on the publication of his new book  (C.H.Beck, 2026).

Since being published in March 2026, the book has garnered widespread media coverage and strong public interest. On a recent episode of (59 min 32 sec), with Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart, Alastair told viewers he was reading Wenn China angreift and in his opinion, an English edition is "nailed on for translation."

The publication has spent a number of weeks in the and has ignited considerable conversation and engagement on , leading to several podcast and news show appearances from Andreas.

What if China attacks and Taiwan Falls?

This is the worst-case scenario and counterfactual history at the heart of Andreas Fulda’s German-language book Wenn China angreift. Ein Szenario (C.H.Beck, 2026). Once confined to niche security panels, Taiwan’s vulnerability has entered mainstream debate. Beijing’s repeated military exercises around the island prompted The Economist to call it ‘the most dangerous place on Earth’. Xi Jinping’s determination to incorporate Taiwan – by force if necessary – leaves little room for political compromise, especially given Beijing’s longstanding rejection of self-determination for any territory it claims as its own.

Congratulations Andreas.
