Professor Jan Meyer-Sahling Contributes to First National Survey of Public Servants in Jordan

Professor Jan Meyer-Sahling has used his expertise in public administration and civil service reform to support to carry out the . 

Support for Improvement in Governance and Management (SIGMA) is a joint initiative of the OECD and the EU to strengthen the foundations for improved public governance. They designed and implemented the survey in co-operation with the Service and Public Administration Commission in Jordan. It generated more than 40,000 responses from public servants and marks an important step in Jordan's public administration reform efforts. 

Jan headed the SIGMA research team for the project and at their recent presentation, he spoke on the interpretation of results and actions to improve managerial practices.  The event was attended by high level officials including ministers and secretaries general.

Jan has previously collaborated with SIGMA to support reform of public administration in the Western Balkans. He has also supported projects in Nepal and Bangladesh to introduce ethical leadership and integrity training programmes for public servants, working with organisations including the Global Integrity Anti-Corruption Evidence Programme and Department for International Development.
