Biography
Emily is a passionate Anatomy educator with extensive experience in higher education and digital learning environments, having taught Human Anatomy for over nine years across a range of healthcare disciplines. She graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2017 with a First-Class Honors degree and has since developed a broad portfolio of teaching experience in Anatomy and Biomedical Science.
Emily has held teaching positions at the University of Birmingham, where she contributed to anatomical education across undergraduate provisions such as Medicine, Dentistry, Applied Sciences and Health Science. She has also worked with Kenhub to support the development of digital learning materials. Emily also served as an Anatomy Demonstrator with the Human Anatomy Resource Centre at the University of Liverpool between 2019 and 2023, delivering practical anatomy teaching using prosections and digital anatomy teaching using Anatomy TV/Anatomage.
In 2023, Emily was appointed Lecturer in Anatomy and Physiology within the School of Health Sciences at University of Lincoln. Here, she acted as recruitment lead for the BSc Paramedic Science program and taught across a variety of healthcare disciplines such as Nursing, Diagnostic Radiography and Public Health. She acted as module coordinator for modules in Anatomy and Physiology, alongside Pathophysiology.
She joined the School of Medicine's Education Centre in May 2026 as a Teaching Associate in Anatomy Education, where she will contribute to anatomical teaching, predominantly for the BMBS curriculum, GEM and Medical Physiology and Therapeutics. Emily's academic interests surround digital anatomy education, pedagogical innovation, and the enhancement of the student experience within Medicine, Life and Health Sciences.

Emily's interests surround Respiratory and Musculoskeletal Anatomy, in particular. She also has a keen interest in the pathophysiological relevance of the content she delivers.

Emily is currently studying for a PhD with the Institute of Life Course and Medical Sciences at the University of Liverpool. Her work involves using Geometric Morphometric Methods (GMM) to capture the shape of normocephalic and craniosynostotic skulls. Her supervisory team includes Dr Alana Sharp, Dr Marcela Cardenas-Serna and Mr Christian Duncan. This work involves clinical collaborators at Alder Hey Children's Hospital Craniofacial Unit.
