Guidance for accessing content from journals

We have recently had to make changes to some journal subscriptions.

We are working to maintain access to content wherever possible. However, some content may not be available via reading lists or NUsearch in the same way as before.

How to access content

This means that we will provide access to some content in different ways. For example, on an alternative platform, or in an open access format, or via a digitised version.

We recommend:

  • To begin with, search the library discovery tool,  to check for access to content. Articles may be available via other sources – not just from the publisher's own platform.

  • Install the free LibKey Nomad browser extension to access UoN-licensed content easily on and off campus.

  • If you are still unable to access an article you need, you can use Libraries’ free, rapid, interlibrary loans service. You will receive the article via email, usually within hours. How to place an interlibrary loan request.

Help and support

If you are still struggling to access the content you need or if you have any further questions, please email collections@nottingham.ac.uk and your module convenor.
