 Welcome to the Old English Reading Group! 

We are an open, relaxed group who read all types of Old English literature from prose and verse to wills and riddles. This group offers the chance to explore the language, themes and history of texts in their original language before translating to modern English. 

Members include academics from the School of English who have expertise in these texts and the language, and postgraduate students. This group is suitable for those with limited knowledge of Old English and more advanced readers. It is a great way to practise your knowledge, learn and develop their abilities, and meet others with a passion for ealry medieval texts.
