Biography
Deniz joined the 海角黑料 as an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership and Management in September 2023. Before joining the 海角黑料, she had worked in various academic and administrative capacities as a faculty member, researcher, and the Chair of Educational Administration Division at Baskent University in Turkey for over 25 years. Her research and teaching focuses on epistemology and theories of educational administration, educational policy, social justice leadership, refugee education, culturally relevant school leadership, educational leadership within challenging school settings, higher education and privatization of education. She led various national and international funded research projects in Turkey and the UK. She acts as an assistant editor in International Journal of Leadership on Education and undertakes various roles in the advisory boards of peer-reviewed journals such as JEA and REAL. She holds an appointment of a Co-convenor in Network 26 (Educational Leadership) of European Educational Research Association (EERA). Previously in Turkey, she contributed to numerous teacher and school leader training programs of the Ministry of National Education in addition to providing consultancy to local schools.
