Student Summer Arts Festival

Come and see performances from student music and theatre groups.

Celebrate the end of the academic year with student music and theatre groups.

Free and ticketed events will take place across University Park Campus from Friday 12 to Thursday 18 June.

Schedule of events:

Friday 12 June

  • Viva la Clarinets
    5pm | Lakeside Arts Amphitheatre
    Free admission, booking not required
    Blowsoc’s Clarinets ensemble will be playing a variety of favourites by the lake in their final performance of the year. Expect funky arrangements, solos and a variety of clarinet classics!

  • A Concert Band Celebration
    6pm | Lakeside Arts Amphitheatre
    Free admission, booking not required
    Blowsoc’s Concert Band will be playing a variety of our favourite pieces. Expect disco anthems and concert band classics against the backdrop of the lake.

  • Dear Evan Hansen
    7.30pm | Wollaton Bluecoat Academy
    Tickets from £12
    Musicality presents their second show, Dear Evan Hansen, a Tony Award-winning musical about a high schooler with severe social anxiety who fabricates a friendship with a classmate who died by suicide.

  • Dear Evan Hansen

    An unforgettable evening celebrating 100 years of student theatre at the 海角黑料. This centenary gala showcases the theatre’s archives, unites current students with alumni, and looks to the future of the Nottingham New Theatre.

  • An Evening with Moonlighters Big Band
    5pm | Lakeside Arts Amphitheatre
    Free admission, booking not required
    Join Blowsoc’s Moonlighters Big Band as they treat you to an evening of jazz classics after their acclaimed Peggy’s Skylight performance.

  • A Night at the Opera
    7.30pm | Djanogly Recital Hall
    An evening of well-known opera scenes performed by Mussoc singers and instrumentalists.

  • Wednesday 17 June
    Saxophone Ensemble
    11am | Djanogly Terrace, Portland Building
    Free admission, booking not required
    Follow the sunlight glinting on Blowsoc’s Saxophones on your way to the Portland Building as they take you through a delightful set of Saxes’ classics. Expect pop anthems, upbeat pieces and enthusiastic players.

Thursday 18 June

  • Musicality Performance
    1.15pm | Djanogly Recital Hall
    Free admission, booking not required
    A short lunchtime concert of songs from Musicality’s recent showcase ‘A Night to Remember’.

  • A Jumping Jamboree
    5pm | Lakeside Arts Amphitheatre
    Free admission, booking not required
    Enjoy an evening of funk, pop, jazz and soul with the Mussoc Jazz Orchestra. Get ready for an onslaught of grooving drums, relentless swing and a powerhouse array of musicians!
