The 海角黑料 has an excellent reputation as a global higher education institution with campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia, but how does the Careers and Employability Service support you as an international student or graduate in the UK?

In this article, I will talk you through our essential tools to support you.

Events

The Careers team organise employer recruitment events and careers fairs throughout the academic year.

We’re the third most targeted university by top recruiters as reported in the

Our careers fairs showcase the range of graduate and internship opportunities for students of all disciplines. Our autumn careers fairs cover a range of sectors including: engineering, science, technology,  consulting, management, finance law and veterinary science.

Returning home to work?

Overseas employers are increasingly embracing students who have a global perspective and recognise their enhanced skill set. We collaborate and support careers fairs and events that cater for students who want to return to their home countries.

On Tuesday 22 April, we have two events for UK-educated Chinese and UK-educated Indian students.

  • Tri-Campus China Career Fair (in-person and online until Thursday 30 April)
  • UK-India Talent Connect Virtual Careers Fair

Find out more about these fairs on our website.

In the spring months, we subscribe to the Asia Careers Insights Series, which attracts employers from China (mainland and Hong Kong), Southeast Asia and India. These events focus on roles within finance, technology, consulting and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies.

  • Right to work in the UK statements

It is usually surprising to international students that most UK employers have never hired an international employee, this is especially prevalent in small to medium-sized organisation.

This often means they are unfamiliar with visas and working restrictions that apply to international students.

It is therefore important to understand how you can confidently explain your working rights to a UK employer. In response, we have created a set of Right to work statements to support you.
