Sustainability and Societal Impact Fellows Graduation 2026

Group of students holding certificates at the Sustainability and Societal Impact Fellows Graduation 2026 standing in front of the lake on Jubilee Campus with Professor David Park, Dr Nahid Yazdana and Professor Andrew BaconOn Friday 15 May 2026, we celebrated the achievements of our Sustainability and Societal Impact (SSI) Fellows at an end-of-year graduation event.

Open to students at all levels across Nottingham University Business School, the Sustainability and Societal Impact (SSI) Fellows Programme empowers participants to take an active role in directing our sustainability and societal impact agenda through a diverse range of student-led projects. Their work reflects a shared commitment to creating positive, lasting change.

The event brought together senior leaders and supporters, including Professor Andrew Bacon (Associate Dean for External Engagement), Dr Nahid Yazdani (Assistant Professor in Global Business Operations and Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Lead) and David Park (Dean of Nottingham University Business School), who delivered inspiring remarks and presented awards to recognise the Fellows’ outstanding contributions.

We are proud to be one of the first UK business schools to become a UN PRME Champion. We were also recognised as a Level 4 ‘Transforming School’, rated top 100 globally overall in the Positive Impact Rating 2025 (PIR), reflecting strong student-rated performance across all impact areas. This milestone marked the school’s first participation in the global PIR, launched at the PIR Global Summit and the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Global Forum, which brought together 86 business schools from 30 countries worldwide.

 Dr Nahid Yazdani, said:

We are very pleased the SSI Fellows Programme has been recognised as best practice by accreditation bodies, and we look forward to growing its impact.

The programme continues to create a community of active contributors, enabling students to gain the skills, confidence and collaborative mindset needed to lead on sustainability and social responsibility.
