MSc International Business Network

The MSc International Business Network is an advisory group that supports Nottingham University Business School in bridging the gap between academic theory and contemporary international business practice.

About the network

The MSc International Business Network supports Nottingham University Business School by bringing academic learning closer to current international business practice.

The network connects alumni and industry professionals with academic staff and students on the MSc International Business programme. Members share insight, experience and external perspectives to help the programme stay relevant in a changing global business environment.

The network is advisory in nature and does not have governance or decision‑making responsibilities.

What the network does

The MSc International Business Network helps the School by:

  • providing insight into industry and professional trends relevant to the future of the MSc International Business programme
  • advising on the strategic direction and curriculum development of the MSc International Business programme
  • strengthening industry connections for module convenors and students in the MSc International Business programme
  • acting as advocates for the School and the MSc International Business community

Network membership

Who takes part

Members of the network are invited by Nottingham University Business School, working with the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO). The Network usually includes 8 to 10 members and may grow over time. A network facilitator supports meetings and acts as the main point of contact between members, the School and DARO.

Membership includes:

  • alumni of Nottingham University Business School
  • professionals working in international business, trade or related fields

Membership term:

  • 1 March 2026 to 31 August 2027

Role and responsibilities of Network members

Members of the network are asked to:

  • contribute to discussions on the strategic direction and curriculum development of the MSc International Business programme
  • participate in network meetings, either online or in person
  • share professional networks and facilitate introductions where appropriate
  • support industry engagement opportunities for students and staff
  • maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR when handling data

The network is advisory and operates collaboratively, offering recommendations by consensus to support the strategic direction and curriculum development of the MSc International Business programme. Helping ensure the programme content remains relevant to the current and future global business and trade landscape and enhancing our industry connections.
