Biography

I am a sociologist with research interests in agricultural technology adoption, the social and ethical impacts of agricultural technologies, relationships between humans and the more-than-human world, and the environment. I received a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science and an MSc in Science Communication and Environmental Decision Making from the Open University. I received my PhD in Sociology in 2019 from the University of Warwick with a thesis entitled 'The Online Genetically Modified Food Debate: Scientific Expertise and Alternative Knowledges'. Before joining the School of Geography at the º£½ÇºÚÁÏ as a Research Fellow, I held postdoctoral positions at the University of Warwick, the University of East Anglia, and the University of Reading.

Current Research

I am currently working on the interdisciplinary Biochar Demonstrator project which is addressing the key deployment barriers of biochar for carbon sequestration. The focus of my work is stakeholder engagement and perspectives. This research will engage stakeholders to show how they know and understand the benefits and risks of biochar.
